Swap Plugins

Components such as conditioning taps and inline equalizers (LEQs) can be coupled with a variety of plugins. In the Component tab, you can swap out the plugins for conditioning taps and LEQs that are a part of your design. When swapping a plugin, keep the following points in mind:

  • The plugin section in the Component tab only appears for applicable components. If a normal tap is selected, for example, the plugin section and the Swap button are not available or visible.

  • Conditioning taps and inline equalizers (LEQs) can be configured to have a default plugin. If no default is configured, the component uses whatever plugin is listed first in the list of plugins. See the topic Plugins in the DHFC Configuration Guide.

  • Conditioning taps have one slot available for a plugin. The current plugin is displayed by the Swap button.

  • LEQs only use return attenuators for plugins.

  • Plugins are also annotated on the map next to the tap or equalizer symbol. See Plugin Annotations for more information.

  • The Swap functional is also available for amplifiers. See the topic Amplifier Plugins for more information.

Plugins are saved as a part of your design, just like any other component.

IMPORTANT: Did you happen to notice your plugin changed in an existing design? Although not common, it is possible for a plugin to change if an administrator has removed your plugin from your project file while you were still working on a design (especially during the time between closing your design and re-opening your design). If that occurs, the application picks the next compatible plugin as saved in your company’s spec catalog. Speak with your administrator first to see if the removal of your plugin was intentional, and if so, if there is a more appropriate plugin choice moving forward.

To swap a plugin, follow these steps:

  1. Use the Inspect tool to select the component on the map.
  2. In the Component tab, click the Swap button.

  3. A dialog appears. Available plugins are grouped by type.
  4. Click to select the desired plugin to update the conditioning tap or LEQ.
