Publish: Design or As Built
Stranding information that is brought into your design from GIS is stored in geodatabase tables that are separate from the design tables, which are populated as you design your RF network in Designer HFC. Additionally, this stranding information is not auto-optimized upon import. If you change existing stranding information (for example, if during design you realize that a house count needs increased to serve more customers), the data is then subjected to optimization.
Whether you choose to publish a design {data is stored in proposed
tables} or commission a design to GIS {data is stored in as-built
tables}, stranding information is stored in as-built tables. This
is slightly different from the way that RF componentry is handled. Componentry placed
during design is saved in proposed tables when you click the Publish
Design icon. When you click the Publish
As Built
icon, componentry is then saved to
as-built tables.
