Optimization

By default, optimization runs automatically as you design the network. Using the RF tool, swapping components, inserting components, or removing components all initiate optimization.

As an example, in a new installation the application examines the house count and signal loss to determine the best signal profile for tap values.

Further, when you make changes on the upstream side, optimization automatically re-examines downstream components.

There are two methods to stop optimization:

  1. Lock an individual component. In this method, you inform the application that optimization should no longer change specific components. The application still flags warnings and errors if the locked components are not optimal for the design, but it does not automatically change them. Optimization continues to run for all other components.

  2. Turn off optimization entirely. On the Tool Ribbon, click the Prevent Auto Optimize button. This turns off the functionality for all design components.
