Network Path
A Network Path (NetPath) is the concatenation of several attributes. It is used as the default for Amplifier Naming, and it is also sent to the GIS as a property on address points.
The NetPath is populated as seen in the following example:
-
SP10 = Node name
-
B = Node leg
-
4 = Cascade position number
-
45 = Amplifier number
-
B = Power supply name
-
Because the NetPath comprises several fields, it is possible that when the fields are pulled together to create the final name, it exceeds the total character limit allowed (the limit is established administratively at your company, and it is typically fewer than 15 characters). The NetPath itself is not an editable attribute on address points, and renaming the amplifier does not affect the NetPath value on the address points. To correct this issue, shorten the name of either the node or power supply.
-
If an amplifier has an RF signal but no power, the NetPath is still populated when pushed to the GIS, even though the DHFC application shows the amplifier as disconnected.
