Gas - UPDM with Utility Network

Designer XI Gas is compatible with Esri’s Utility and Pipeline Data Model (UPDM). Thus, the fields found in UPDM are compatible with Designer XI Gas.

The fields listed below are those that are required at a minimum. Almost all fields listed below are already a part of UPDM. Again, you can utilize the other fields in UPDM.

The only additional feature class required is the Design Region. Please see that topic for more information.

FacilityID

This is a string field that must be added to the data model.

GlobalID

With the Utility Network, Designer XI is able to generate a Global ID for all components. The Global ID does not change during the course of the design workflow. The Global ID is sent with the design during push, and it is used as a unique identifier. Further, this ID could be beneficial for integrated systems.

This Designer XI Global ID field is mapped directly to the Esri GlobalID field in the schema. With the “supportsApplyEditsWithGlobalIds” property set to “true” on the feature service, Designer XI is allowed to write to this field.

This means all applications can utilize a single GlobalID field throughout the component’s lifecycle.
