Setting up the device log exports using the webpages

Use the device log export feature to configure and export meter parameters for monitoring and analyzing meter performance. You can export logs either on a schedule (Device Log Export Schedule) or manually (Manual Export).
NOTE: Export time may vary depending on the number of records. To reduce export time, consider lowering the logging frequency or choose using a more frequent export schedule (for example, weekly instead of monthly).

Prerequisites:

  • Available only on PM5560 and PM5563 meter models with firmware version 4.4.5 or later.

  • Download the latest firmware upgrade package (.zip) containing the PM5kDataLogger file from www.se.com.

  • Server IP address and TCP port, proxy server IP address and TCP port details. If you do not have these details, contact your local network administrator.

  • Login credentials for the webpages.

To set up the device log exports using the webpages:

  1. Run the PM5KDataLogger.exe file located in the PM5kDataLogger folder from the firmware release package.
  2. Enter the IP address of the system where the Data Logger is running.
NOTE: The Data Logger supports both secure and unsecure Modes. It is recommended to use Secure Mode.
  3. Select the checkbox for Secure Mode to automatically set the port number to 443. If the Secure Mode is not enabled, the port number is automatically assigned to 80.
  4. Select Start Server and minimize the Data Logger application.
NOTE: Keep the Data Logger application running at all times to ensure smooth and successful log exports.
  5. Log in to the meter webpages.
  6. Navigate to Settings > Communication > Device Log Export.
  7. Select the checkbox next to Enable HTTP Device Log Export.
  8. In the Device Log Export Schedule, set the Frequency and configure the schedule as follows:
    • Daily: Select Daily and set the export time using the Time of Day field.
    • Weekly: Select Weekly, then set both the export time and the day using the Time of Day and Day of the Week fields.
    • Monthly: Select Monthly, then set the export time and date using the Time of Day and Day of the Month fields.
RECOMMENDATION: For Monthly schedules, set the Day of the Month to 28 or earlier to ensure compatibility with all calender months.
  9. Select the checkbox next to SSL Enable and configure the HTTP parameters as required:

Enter the proxy server IP address, if your network requires it.

    Proxy Server TCP Port *

Enter the proxy server TCP port number, if your network requires it.

    PATH

The system automatically assigns the network path to the PM5kDataLogger/Uploads.

    Field Name

Enter the filename for the exported data log in .csv format (for example: ExportedLog.csv).

    Host Name

    Enter the virtual host name.

  10. (Optional) Select Manual Export to export the data logs immediately.
NOTE: The exported data includes all records from the last export up to the current export time, based on the configured export schedule.

RECOMMENDATION: You can keep the default Device Log Export Schedule settings when using the Manual Export.

  11. Select Save changes or Apply Changes to send and save the new settings to the meter.
