Ethernet port setup

NOTE:
  • Refer to Restoration of temporarily disabled configuration settings in webpages to know availability of these features on your meter model.

  • FTPS and HTTPS are available only in latest firmware versions for the following meter models:

    • PM5560 / PM5562 / PM5562MC / PM5563 / PM5580 meter models: 4.0.0 or later

    • PM5570 / PM5660 / PM5760 meter models: 6.0.0 or later

    • PM5650 meter model: 4.10.0 or later

    • PM5561 meter model: 12.0.0 or later

    • PM5661 / PM5761 meter models: 14.0.0 or later

  • IPv6 support is available only in PM5560 / PM5563 / PM5580 meter models with firmware version 4.5.0 or later.

The meter is factory-configured with default Ethernet communications settings.

You must modify the default Ethernet settings before connecting the meter to your local area network (LAN) using the meter webpages. The default Ethernet communications settings are:

  • MAC Address = 00:80:67:8A:F6:64

  • IPv4 Acquisition Mode= Stored

  • IPv4 Address = 169.254.0.10

  • IPv4 Subnet Mask = 255.255.0.0

  • IPv4 Gateway = 0.0.0.0

  • IPv6 Acquisition Mode= Default

  • IPv6 Link Local Address = FE80::280:67FF:FE92:8B7C

  • IPv6 Global Address = 2001:db8::8a2e:370:7334

  • IPv6 Gateway = 2001:db8::8a2e:370:7334

  • FTP/FTPS = Enabled

  • HTTP/HTTPS server = Enabled

  • IP filtering = Disabled

  • DPWS = Enabled

  • SNMP = Enabled

  • DNP3 = Disabled

  • EtherNet/IP = Enabled

  • BACnet/IP = Enabled

  • Device name = PM55-#xxxxxxxxxx, where xxxxxxxxxx is the meter’s factory serial number (with leading zeros if serial number is less than 10 characters)

NOTE: Your meter’s serial communications port ID (Com1 ID) is used in both Ethernet and serial communications; you need to change the Com1 ID meter property in ION Setup if you modify the meter’s RS-485 address.
