IP address format and ranges

When you set your meter’s IPv4 or IPv6 addresses, use the correct format and valid ranges.
NOTE: IPv6 support is available only in PM5560 / PM5563 / PM5580 meter models with firmware version 4.5.0 or later.

IPv6

The IPv6 link local address typically starts with FE80::

Example: FE80::280:67FF:FE92:8B7C (FE80:0000:0000:0000:0280:67FF:FE92:B703)

The IPv6 global address is based on your network’s prefix, such as 2001:db8:: or a similar range. The double colon (::) indicates that gaps are filled with zeroes to make the IPv6 address the correct length (32 hexadecimal numbers).

Example: 2001:db8::8a2e:370:7334 (2001:0db8:0000:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334)
