Assign Model Names

Continuing from the previous topic and having verified the attribute field is ready, it is time to assign the model name.
  1. In ArcCatalog, expand your geodatabase until you find the feature class you want to configure.
  2. Right-click the feature class and choose ArcFM Properties Manager.

  3. Click on the Field Model Names tab.
IMPORTANT: Model names come in two varieties: class model names and field model names. Class model names are assigned at the feature class level. In other words, they are independent of any specific attribute field. Field model names are more fine-grained and are assigned at the field level. In this case, SYMBOLROTATION is applied at the field level.
  4. Click the field to highlight it in blue. Then, locate the field model name, and either double-click it or use the right arrow to assign it.

    IMPORTANT:

If you cannot locate the model name, first check which model name domain you are using. In the case above, SYMBOLROTATION can be used with any utility, so it is located in the Domain Independent Field Model Name domain. Other model names are utility-specific and are only located in that utility’s domain. Second, if you are in the correct domain but still don’t see the model name, it might not have been added to the model name domain yet. You add model names to the model name domain in ArcCatalog.

    See the help topic Domains.

  5. Click OK to close the dialog.
