Orphaned Versions Cleanup Tool
For additional information about the Orphaned Versions Cleanup Tool (OVCT), see the ArcCatalog Tools Configuration Guide topic: Orphaned Versions Clean Up Tool.
This Action Handler doesn't run during version processing, but instead it simply runs at the scheduled time, separate from version processing. As a best practice, avoid scheduling this Action Handler during version processing. But, if you choose to schedule it at a date/time that overlaps with version processing, this Action Handler is designed to wait until version processing is complete before it starts its work.
To execute Orphaned Versions Cleanup Tool functionality, on the Schedule tab specify the General Start Time and check the Run Orphaned Versions Cleanup Tool node. Then run the GDBM service.
-
If Process Framework is not configured in GDBM then on executing Orphaned Versions Cleanup Tool the following message is logged.
-
If Process Framework is configured and there are orphaned versions, then the process runs and deletes the orphaned versions. The image below shows a successful run of OVCT.
TIP: If Orphaned Versions Cleanup Tool encounters any issues, it logs the following message:Use the orphan version cleanup tool from ArcCatalog to complete the process.
If General Action Handlers are configured to run during a Reconcile or Post interval, the General Handlers are run immediately following that interval, or when there are no sessions or designs to Reconcile or Post.
