What is the difference between Feeder Manager 1.0 and Feeder Manager 2.0?
-
Feeder Manager 1.0 is the original version of Feeder Manager. It tracks and updates feeder information by using your geodatabase. This version incurs substantial database querying and updates. Compared to Feeder Manager 2.0, you'll experience reduced performance and greater likelihood of version conflicts. However, third party customizations might be easier to implement since the feeder information is stored in a readily accessible geodatabase field. Feeder Manager 2.0 tracks feeder information in memory. Performance is far superior to that of Feeder Manager 1.0, and you can expect fewer version conflicts. Accessing feeder information outside of ArcMap, however, requires running the Feeder Export or other geoprocessing tools, and it may require you to update existing customizations.
Schneider Electric strongly recommends Feeder Manager 2.0, but you can read all the details in the Feeder Manager topics and make an informed decision.

How many different ways can I configure the ArcFM Abandon tools?
-
Your users have two tools available: ArcFM Abandon and ArcFM Abandon and Remove (and a third tool called Convert to Conduit for linear features that can be performed after the abandon). And, you have four possible configurations: Abandon to Object Class, Abandon to Feature Class, Abandon to Subtype, and Abandon to Indicator Field. So, don’t let the tool names confine you, because you can assign any one of the four functions to each of the abandon tools. In other words, pick the two functions you want, then assign them to the two tools. It is better to think of them as Abandon Method #1 and Abandon Method #2. Abandon to Object Class is typically coupled with ArcFM Abandon and Remove, but again, it does not have to be. If you want to have Method #1 be Abandon to Feature Class and Method #2 be Abandon to Indicator field, that is perfectly possible. You can even rename the tools to match their configured function!
See the topic Configure Abandon Tool for all the possibilities.
