Bulk Delete CU Tags
You can individually delete tags from a category. But, what if you have dozens (or hundreds) of tags to delete? You can use a list of tags in Excel to bulk delete tags from an existing category.
For the tags to properly delete:
-
The tags you want deleted need to be in Sheet 1 of the Excel table.
-
They need to start in Column A, Row 1 in the Excel table (also known as cell A1).
-
They cannot have row breaks (empty rows) among them. All the tags need to be contiguous like the following example of roadside hazards that are going to be deleted:
To bulk delete CU Tags, follow these steps:
-
Ensure your Excel table meets the criteria above.
-
Save your Excel table (the name of the table does not matter to Solution Center).
-
In Solution Center, click Designer > Client Application > CU Tags.
-
Click the Tag Category that contains the tags you want to delete. The following image is just an example:
-
Near “Tags,” click Bulk Delete.
-
Locate the Excel table.
-
Click the Excel table to highlight it, then click Open.
-
A confirmation dialog appears confirming the number of tags it found to delete. Click Delete (or, click Cancel if the number does not seem correct and investigate if you selected the correct Excel table).
-
Visually confirm the tags were deleted. In this example, the four tags from the Excel table are no longer in the category.
-
After Bulk Delete, the list is automatically saved. However, if you then make small changes, ensure you click Save for those changes to persist.
