Backstage Custom Properties

Custom Properties allow designers to save high-level attributes at the Design level and the Work Request level. These properties are sent along with the Design and Work Request through the workflow, and they can even integrate with your company’s Work Management System (WMS).

Custom Properties leverage the Microsoft technology called Adaptive Cards.

To get started working with Adaptive Cards:

• We strongly encourage you to visit the Adaptive Cards help to learn more about the technology.

  • In particular, read the Tools and Samples help topics. They provide examples and a syntax validator.

• We also encourage you to download the Work Request and Design samples found in the myArcFM article Designer XI Samples. You can then open the .json in an application such as Notepad ++ to refine the sample to meet your business needs.

You are allowed to have one Adaptive Card for all Work Requests and one Adaptive Card for all Designs.
