Bulk Upload CU Tags
You can take a list of CU Tags from Excel and bulk upload them into Solution Center.
For the tags to properly upload:
-
The tags need to be in Sheet 1 of the Excel table.
-
They need to start in Column A, Row 1 in the Excel table (also known as cell A1).
-
They cannot have row breaks (empty rows) among them. All the tags need to be contiguous like the following example of roadside hazards:
NOTE: Do not worry about the alphanumeric sorting of the tags. Upon upload, they are automatically re-sorted in alphanumeric fashion.
To bulk upload CU Tags, follow these steps:
-
Ensure your Excel table meets the criteria above.
-
Save your Excel table (the name of the table does not matter to Solution Center).
-
In Solution Center, click Designer > Client Application > CU Tags.
-
Type a descriptive name for the Tag Category. This name is visible in the client application, so ensure it is understandable for users.
-
If desired, check the box to Allow Multiple Tags.
-
Allowed: The user can add more than one tag from the category to a CU.
-
Not Allowed: The user can add only one tag from the category to a CU.
-
-
Choose a Color.
-
Near “Tags,” click Bulk Upload.
-
Locate the Excel table.
-
Click the Excel table to highlight it, then click Open.
-
A confirmation dialog appears confirming the number of tags it found to upload. Click Upload (or, click Cancel if the number does not seem correct and investigate if you selected the correct Excel table).
NOTE: If your list happens to have duplicate tags, they are not entered in duplicate fashion. For example, if “Blind Curve” happened to be listed twice in Excel, it is only added once in Solution Center. -
Visually confirm the tags look appropriate.
-
After Bulk Upload, the list is automatically saved. However, if you then make small changes, ensure you click Save for those changes to persist.
