CU Search
The CU Search automatically searches the WMS Code, Description, and the Name of the CU.
There are several ways to search for a CU:
-
Click on a component on the Design tab. If it is the first time you have clicked that component, the CU Search dialog automatically opens. And, when you search in this manner, the dialog only shows the CUs that match the component you clicked. In other words, if you clicked Place New Pole for the first time, the CU Search dialog appears automatically and only searches among poles.
-
In the Project Pane, click an existing component once, click the small triangle to see more options, and then click Change CU. The CU Search dialog opens and searches CUs that match that component type.
-
Press Ctrl+F at any time. The CU Search dialog appears allowing you to search across all component types.
-
Right-click in the map space (not on a component) and choose Search CUs.
The dialog uses colors and symbols to indicate the type of CU found:
-
A Driving CU appears in green font. This is a component you sketch on the map, like a pole or conduit for example.
-
The Macro CU
icon indicates the CU is a Group. Macro CUs consist of a single CU that is drawn and represents the group in the map, in addition to any number of Non-Drawn CUs associated with it.
-
A Non-Drawn CU appears in gray font. It is a non-drawn component that can be added to an existing Driving or Macro CU.
TIP: Look at the font color to differentiate between a Non-Drawn and Driving CU. The green backing behind the text indicates the CU is currently selected; it does not indicate whether it is drawn on the map or not.
