Project Pane

The Project pane is an integral part of Designer XI. It contains several helpful tools to manage the CUs in your design, and it acts as a home base for your inventory while you are working.

IMPORTANT: In the Project pane the CUs are labeled by their Work Management System (WMS) code. This is not configurable. The codes are used to integrate Designer XI with your WMS or other inventory system.

IMPORTANT: When you first open the Project pane, there is a default Work Location called “No WL.” This is where newly-placed CUs appear initially. Once you create additional Work Locations, you can drag and drop the CUs into the desired Work Location or use the Auto Assign Work Locations tool.

In the Project pane, you can:

  • Change CUs

  • Add Non-Drawn CUs

  • Change CU quantities or lengths

  • Navigate to CUs or Work Locations

  • Collapse all listed items for easier navigation

  • Delete CUs or Work Locations

  • Manage Work Locations

  • Copy inventory lists by Work Location

  • Update Facility IDs

Keep reading the subtopics in this help chapter to learn specifics about the Project pane functions. Topics are organized alphabetically by tool or function name.
