Trace

If you want to trace existing imported components, including design-placed components, use the Trace tool, which helps you find the source of your feeder and/or see if the features you just placed are correctly connected to the network.

This tool is a hover tool, meaning that you need only hover over a component to start the trace. As you move your mouse over other components, a new trace runs. It is also performing an upstream and downstream trace at the same time. The trace is extremely fast, so no need to worry about performance!

When the trace runs, it shows you in green the location where the trace started. Upstream components are shown in red and downstream components are shown in blue.

TIP: If you want to lock in your trace results (i.e., not change when you hover over other features), just left-click when you have the trace results you want. You can then pan and zoom without your trace results display changing. When you want to unlock the trace results, left-click in the map again. You can also use the Esc key to clear/unlock the trace results.
