Create Application Data for Emergency Exit Lights

You can quickly create the required C-Bus Application Items in your project based on the current configuration of the DALI Lines of a C-Bus DALI-2 Gateway device.

To create application items:

  1. Select DALI device >Emergency Exit Lights >click Create Application Items.

The Create Application Items dialogue box appears.

  2. Click Create to generate the application items. C-Gate creates the items and displays them in the relevant Application workspace in the client, based on the DALI-2 Gateway_Create Application Items file in the project folder.

NOTE: If the Emergency and Exit Light (DT1) devices check box is selected, Emergency and Exit Light (DT1) devices are created for the used DALI devices at an Object ID and displays them in the Emergency Exit Light application.

    Success message appears.

  3. DT1 DALI Emergency device items are created in the Emergency Exit Light Application – Devices section, representing all applicable DT1 DALI Emergency devices present in C-Bus DALI-2 Gateway devices on the C-Bus network.

  4. The number of devices created is based on applicable devices, which are devices that are in use or configured for use.

    • Device is created only when both of the following conditions are met:

      • A DT1 DALI Emergency device exists at an Object ID (0–63 for Line A and 0–63 for Line B).

      • The Device Used check box for the DALI device must be selected.

The created new devices are predefined, with information from the existing C-Bus DALI-2 Gateway and DALI devices, and contains a predefined default name.

  5. Go to Emergency Exit Light in Applications (left pane). The created Emergency and Exit Light (DT1) devices for the used DALI devices are displayed in the Emergency Exit Light application.

    • The default Line Name is based on the Line Name defined in the C-Bus DALI-2 Gateway.

    • When the DALI Line Name property is blank in the C-Bus DALI-2 Gateway device, the application uses a predefined default Line Name as listed in the Emergency Exit Light tab.

    • The default EEL Name is based on the Device Name property of the DALI device at the corresponding Object ID on the DALI Line.

NOTE: This rule uses the existing DALI Device Name behavior, including the uniqueness rule across the Channel ID.
    • The Light Source Life (Days) value for each device is taken from the DALI device Light Source Life (Days) property at the corresponding Object ID on the DALI Line.

    • The Test Group for each device is set to <Unassigned>.

    • New Device (Object ID) is created only when that Device (Object ID) does not already exist.

    • When a Device (Object ID) already exists, the auto-create process does not update or overwrite any existing information for that Device (Object ID).
