Software Version 2.14.0

SENPIRIB (5753L) Sensor

The passive infrared (PIR) occupancy detector is a C-Bus unit that senses the natural thermal (infra red) radiation emitted by any warm body. It is used as an automatic switching device within lighting type applications by detecting and responding to changes in infra red levels. It is also capable of detecting changes in ambient light levels. A physical potentiometer can be adjusted manually to set the threshold value between light and darkness.

The features include the ability to:

  • Switch the detector On/Off.

  • Set power failure values.

  • Set LED assignment.

The field informations to configure SpaceLogic C-Bus SENPIRIB sensor are described as below:

Applications

This section displays the lighting applications supported by the SENPIRIB sensor. Up to two lighting applications can be defined and then used throughout the configuration of the SENPIRIB sensor.

By default, Lighting is selected in the Application 1 drop-down list and <unused> is selected in Application 2 drop-down list.

To add Application:

  • You can enter the name in Application 1 field and press Enter in keyboard. The Application is created by taking the next available Application address.

The created Application is saved in the network.

    or,

  • Click . The Add Application pop-up appears.

It supports application addresses from 48 to 127.

  • Enter the required details and then click Create. The application is created and listed in the Application 1 drop-down list.

    NOTE:
    • Use a unique application name for each network.

    • Enter a maximum of 32 characters for the Application Name

    • You can use numbers, letters and special characters excluding /,” and #.

  • Click Cancel to cancel the operation.

    To edit Application:

  • Click to modify the application name.

NOTE: Edit button is disabled if the Application is set to <Unused>.
  • Make necessary changes and then click Save. You cannot edit the Application address after it has been created.

Repeat the same for Application 2.

NOTE: The Trigger and Enable options are available only in Application 2 drop-down list. It supports application addresses from 48 to 127, 202 and 203. The application selected in Application 1 drop-down list will not be listed in Application 2 drop-down list and vice versa.

Configuration

Mode

Select the required option from the Mode drop-down list. The options are:

  • No mode Set (Advanced Configuration)

  • Presence Detection with Light Level Target

  • Presence Detection

  • Sunset Switch

Group

  • Select the value from the Application Index drop-down list.

  • The Group drop-down list displays all available groups within the selected application.

  • You can add and edit Groups. For more information refer Group.

  • NOTE: When you select No mode Set (Advanced Configuration) from Mode drop-down list, Application Index and Group drop-down lists are disabled.

Expiry Time

The expiry time values are set to define an interval of time to elapse before the Lighting group is turned Off. This is often used for activating a time delay after motion is detected.

Select the desired expiry time.

NOTE: The Expiry Time field ranges from 0 to 18 hours, 12 minutes, and 15 seconds.
  • You can increase or decrease the hours and minutes by increment of 1.

  • You can increase or decrease the seconds by increment of 5.

  • You can also input a value manually to hours, minutes, and seconds.

NOTE: When you select No mode Set (Advanced Configuration) from Mode drop-down list, Expiry Time field is disabled.

Light Level Target (Lux)

In the Light Level Target (Lux) section, use the target selection list and margin selection list to lux values suitable for the light level requirements where the sensor is installed.

  • You can increase or decrease the lux value in increments of 10.

  • You can set the Light Level Target from 0 to 2000 lux.

  • The Target Range is calculated using the Light Level Target and Light Level Margin (%).

Light Level Margin (%)

  • You can increase or decrease the margin value in increments of 1.

  • You can set the Light Level Margin (%) from 1 to 100.

  • Handling Light Level Target or Margin set as Group:

    • If you change Light Level Margin (%), the corresponding lux value is displayed as “(XX lux)”.

    • If Light Level Target is set to Group, the field label is updated to Light Level Target (Group) and the <group address name> is displayed.

    • If Light Level Margin (%) is set to Group, the field label is updated to “Light Level Margin (Group) and the <group address name> is displayed.

  • If Light Level Target or Light Level Margin (%) is set to Group, the Mode is set to No Mode Set (Advanced Configuration).

Current State

  • It indicates the operating state of the sensor as Light, Dark, or In Target Range based on the current light level relative to the configured Light Level Target and Light Level Margin.

  • Dark is displayed when the current light level is less than the lowest value in the Target Range.

  • In Target Range is displayed when the current light level is between the lowest and highest values in the Target Range.

  • Light is displayed when the current light level is greater than the highest value in the Target Range.

  • The current light level in lux is displayed when the network is open and the project device matches the live network device.

For example: Current State values include Dark (150 lux)” and Light (1000 lux).

Potentiometer A

It is used for adjusting light level, block timers, and occupancy behaviour.

You can use the potentiometers to set light level target in lux.

Function

Select the required option from the Function drop-down list. The options are <Unused>, Light Level and Sunset Adjust, Block Timer Adjust, and Occupancy Sensitivity Adjust.

By default, Light Level and Sunset Adjust option is selected.

Block

Block drop-down list is enabled only if you select Block Timer Adjust from Function drop-down list.

Select the required option from the Block drop-down list, that contains the lighting type group to be controlled by potentiometer change.

By default, 1:<Unused> option is selected.

Level

Displays the current potentiometer position as a 0-255 value, if you are viewing the configuration from the physical unit.

The Refresh button is enabled only when the Network is opened and scanned.

Indicator Brightness

The brightness of the LEDs can be defined by one of three methods.

Select the required option from the Indicator Brightness drop-down list. The options are Fixed, Block 1 Level and PE Cell Level.

  • Select Fixed to set the brightness to a fixed level.

  • Select Block 1 Level to set the brightness of the LED indicator to the level of the Lighting Type group assigned to the first block,.

  • Select PE Cell Level to set the level of brightness as a percentage of the lux level. This means that the LED indicator shines brighter as the lux level is higher and less brightly when the lux level is lower.

By default, Fixed option is selected.

Light Level Maintenance Active

  • If Light Level Maintenance Active is unchecked, the Group and the Enable/Disable radio buttons are disabled.

Group
