Software Version 2.14.0

Bulk Editing of DALI Devices

You can quickly configure DALI Group Membership for multiple DALI devices either within a project or on a live DALI line with minimal effort, time, and repetition. A consolidated view and workflow are provided to manage group memberships across several devices simultaneously. This significantly reduces the time and effort required to commission a DALI line when compared to configuring each device individually through the PROPERTIES window.

Prerequisites: Make sure the network has already been created in a project and DALI-2 Gateway has been added to the Devices in Project (project database).

  1. Select the Network.

  2. Click DALI Devices.

  3. In the Line Devices section, select the devices to be grouped.

  4. Right-click and select Edit DALI Devices.

NOTE: The Edit DALI Devices option is enabled after the completion of either a DALI Device Type Scan or a DALI Scan. Scans are only for live Line Devices.

Edit DALI Devices dialogue box appears.

Selected Line Devices are listed in top of the table.

NOTE: If the selected DALI device (example: Emergency DT1-C device or Emergency DT1-D device) does not contain DALI group membership properties then the device appears enabled in the Selected Line Devices table.

There are 4 tabs in Edit DALI Devices dialogue box:

    • DALI Group Membership

    • Levels

    • DALI Scenes

    • LED Dimming Curve

  5. In the DALI Group Membership tab, select the required DALI Group Membership check box to configure DALI group membership for all the selected DALI devices and click OK.

NOTE: The DALI group membership properties are displayed only if all selected devices contain DALI group membership properties. If one of the selected devices does not contain DALI group membership properties, then the DALI group membership properties are not displayed.
  6. Click to unselect all the selected DALI groups. DALI group membership configuration changes are saved to the selected line devices only.

  7. If a DALI group is set for at least one of the selected device(s), the check box is displayed in an indeterminate/partial state.

  8. Whenever you invoke DALI Group Membership for the first load, it will read the additional DALI information, regardless of which DALI scan you completed.

NOTE: Only if Read DALI Gateway scan is completed, C-Bus Mapping is displayed for each DALI Group in the DALI Group Membership table.

For live DALI devices, when you click OK:

    • Configurations are saved only to selected live network devices if it is a unreconciled device.

    • Configurations are saved to the selected live network devices and project devices if it is a reconciled device.

    • DALI group membership changes are saved.

The completed configuration activity can be seen in DEPLOYMENT QUEUE.

  9. An Error pop-up appears if you try to load the same device into the PROPERTY EDITOR while deployment is still in progress.

  10. In the Project Devices section, select the devices to be grouped. Follow the steps 4–5.

  11. Click Levels tab in the Edit DALI Devices dialogue box.

If any selected device does not contain the DALI Emergency Levels properties, the DALI Emergency Levels properties are not displayed.

Current configuration is displayed for the project devices/live devices selected.

    • For Lighting devices, Physical Minimum Level field is disabled for reconciled devices.

    • Additional properties are displayed for Emergency DT1 device types.

    • For un-reconciled project devices, you can define the Physical Minimum Level (property is enabled/editable). If selected devices are a live devices, then Physical Minimum Level field is disabled.

    • If a property value is out of range and blank (invalid based on other property values), a red validation border is displayed and a tooltip message.

    • Valid property range is enforced across all selected devices (combined rules):

    • The properties in the LED Dimming Curve tab behave identically to the equivalent properties in the PROPERTIES window for the same device.
