LOP Protection Settings

LOP protection is always available but can be selected Off if not required.

LOP protection can be in one of three operating modes:

OFF
Trip
Alarm

Table 58 LOP Protection Settings

LOP Setting	Description
Off	LOP protection is non-operational
Trip	LOP protection operation will trip the switchgear
Alarm	LOP protection operation will not cause the switchgear to trip. Instead an alarm will be recorded in the Event Log and can be reported via a SCADA protocol or via an IOEX output, **flexVUE** status lamp etc.

Once LOP protection has been set to either Trip or Alarm it will operate according to two settings:

LOP Voltage
- The phase to earth voltage on one or two phases must fall below to start the LOP timer.
LOP Timeout
- The time a LOP condition exists before either a protection trip occurs or an alarm is generated.
